the therapist
Lucy Svehla, B.Kin, RMT graduated with a 2200 hr massage diploma in 2011 from the highly acclaimed school CCMH Foothills College of Massage and Hydrotherapy.
Since that time, she has worked in various massage settings including rehab centers, spas and collaborative clinics. She lived in the Yukon for 3 years where she owned and operated a very successful two treatment room clinic.
Before the days of massage, Lucy started out in the field of Kinesiology. Having had ongoing knee problems from a young age due to sports, Lucy was curious about the body and how to heal it. Her Human Kinetics background was the perfect stepping stone to massage and that knowledge often assists her in her treatments today.
In addition to being passionate about the body, how it works, and how to heal it, Lucy has also always been passionate about using it. Competitive sports, namely, tennis and rowing, were a large part of her life in her earlier years.
Living in the mountains quickly drew her to climbing, hiking, biking and backpacking. To this day, these are still her favorite activities.
Staying mobile and helping people be mobile seemed like a natural fit for her. So as she brings therapy to patients in the comfort of their surroundings, she hopes to promote relaxation, ease tension, decrease pain and enable more efficient movement.
